This is the view from the windmill in the Keukenhof, arguably one of the most visited places in Holland. It’s famous especially in the Spring time for the thousands and thousands of tulips. You’ll find them in any color, except for black – somehow it’s genetically impossible to grow black tulips.
In my 26 years of living in Holland, I’d never been to the Keukenhof. I always thought it was a big tourist trap, but how wrong was I… It’s amazing! Literally fields and fields of tulips, in all kinds of shapes and sizes. The view above is from the windmill and from there you can see the biggest field of tulips.
So yes, in all my years of living in Holland I’d never been there, luckily my American wife wanted to go see it and my folks recommended it as well. If you have a chance to visit Holland in the Spring, definitely make it out to the Keukenhof – you won’t regret it. (April 2016)
