Since we landed in Milan this week I thought I’d post a few more shots of that city. I’ve only been once, and I’ll probably keep it that way. There’s just not really that much to see or do, at least in my opinion. Of course it’s known for its fashion, but really the more beautiful scenery is to be found elsewhere in Italy. We’re all going to Italy this summer, so I’m pretty stoked. I’ve only been to Venice once while on vacation in Croatia, and then Milan, Florence and Rome in one trip. This time around we’ll spend some significant time in Tuscany, and have small stops at Lago di Como (actually avoiding Milan) and lastly Rome before flying to Holland.
But back to Milan. This statue is right behind the Duomo and Galleria which is kind of the vocal point of Milan in the city centre. I’m not much into art, I’ll be the first to admit that, but I do enjoy these types of statues and the architecture around it. You just don’t see it in the States, I’ve touched on that before in one of my blog posts, so after having lived here for a few years I’ve come to appreciate it a lot more. Maybe it just comes with each, who knows… Anyways, Leonardo da Vinci looks amazing here. (July 2005)
