I watched the latest Jurassic Park movie today, Jurassic World – Fallen Kingdom, and save your 2 hours if you plan on watching it… I could’ve written a script that bad, just plain crap…! The special effects in the move are amazing, you almost can’t see that it’s a CGI dinosaur, but still. Can’t they think of a better and more convincing storyline for those movies?
The cool part about Jurassic Park though is that it was partly filmed at the Kualoa Ranch in Oahu, Hawaii. The lush, green mountains with the blue water are amazing to see on the big screen, in real life it’s even more amazing. A couple of years ago we went horse riding on the ranch where they filmed a few scenes for all of the movies, one of the most memorable days in Hawaii to date for me. The ranch is privately held land where they have a sugarcane plantation, former military bunkers, and in addition to Jurassic Park some other movies have been filmed there such as Godzilla, 50 First Dates and Pearl Harbor (of course). But it’s not just the scenery, the entire vibe is just something else, it’s tough to describe. It definitely makes me want to go back every time I think about it, if only there weren’t so many other places in the world to visit. (April 2015)
